Psychotherapy for Individuals, Couples, and Families
My approach to therapy is grounded in attachment science, psychodynamic therapy and trauma informed therapies including EMDR to care for the whole self. The foundation of therapy is a genuine relationship and connection between client and therapist. Your path is unique to you and I am a partner to assist in discovering and expressing your own innate wisdom, inner potential, goals and needs. In meeting you where you are are, I may help you to access and incorporate new tools and skills in mindfulness and emotion regulation. Our personal challenges and patterns are often the result of adaptations that make sense in the context of our life experiences. Together we get to know those adaptations to discover new ways of being and relating.
I received my B.A. in psychology at UC Berkeley and interned on Dacher Keltner’s research team where I studied the adaptive power of emotions. I received my Masters in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage & Family Therapy in 2022 and completed the Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy in 2023. I offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and have specialized training in integrating expressive arts into EMDR sessions when helpful. This allows us to access deep healing in creative and personalized ways.
Prior to private practice, I served as a therapist for children, families and teachers in a school-based program. My personal and professional learning process has involved yoga, dance, personal psychotherapy, and group work with Bessel Van der Kolk. I continue to evolve and incorporate what I learn into my work with clients.
I am a Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (137865) and I work under the supervision of a clinical psychologist, Wendy Denham (20898).
